Rogan's Birthday Dinner in Sorrento

It's my birthday tomorrow! We wanted a nice to place to have dinner in Sorrento, since we were going to be driving all day tomorrow to go back to Sicily. So we looked at a lot of restaurants. Some of them were closed, some of them didn't have my favorite pasta dish, that is RAGU, or Bolognese with Angel Hair pasta. Finally we found a place that was near a little garden surrounding a monument and a statue against the wall. Flowers were climbing all over. There, I got my RAGU. After dinner, I went to the bathroom, and when I was in the bathroom, Daddy asked our waiters for a cake for desert for my birthday. They said they didn't have one, but that they would run to a nearby bakery to get one for me. They brought it out with two candles and they everyone in the garden started singing 'Tante Auguri', which means "Many wishes" in Italian. Then we cut the cake. It was a little too sweet for me, but I ate some of it. There was a lot left at the end. It was a good birthday dinner. I liked it.

  1. Rogan, I am glad you got your Ragu for your birthday dinner. I can hardly wait to eat some myself. But, I don't think any cake could be too sweet for me. I am really glad the mountain didn't repeat the event of 1,930 years ago so you get to enjoy being 10 years old.

You all are giving me a lot of good information.
    Love, Grandma

  2. Rogan and Domenica, Many thanks for your wonderful messages, I feel as thought we have a pair of foreign correspondents keeping us informed in a most professional manner. Happy Birthday to you Rogan on an unforgettable date.
Domenica, your descriptions seem to make Sicily come alive for me. Susan, this is a pretty dull place since you've been gone. The Huskies lost to LSU, they treed and freed a cougar in Discovery Park and nobody knows much about either mayoral candidate. Marco you did pick a good time - it may be hot and humid but here it's dull and drizzly. Caio

  3. Hey you guys, great blog! Your birthday cake looked DELICIOUS. I'm sorry you missed the blueberries this year - I got 23 quarts! Grandma Ann and I nearly killed ourselves because we couldn't leave the berries - we finally had to just stop going up the mountain!
Hey don't you guys have to, like go to school? And get a place to live? When is your Nonni coming? Would love to know when these things are happening.
Also, Rogan - Did you get Age of Empires for your birthday?
